Personal Growth

The focus of Green Psychology is to help people grow.

Jake and Hannah Eagle are co-founders of Green Psychology. They apply the principles of Green Psychology in their work, Jake as a psychotherapist, Hannah as a homeopath, and they teach the principles to others through various workshops and “labs.”

The principles of Green Psychology are to:
1) Grow
2) Respect diversity
3) Wisely use your personal energy
4) Take full responsibility for the footprint you create
5) Renew and sustain your self through the choices you make

An Overview of Green Psychology Principles

Personal Growth is the overarching principle of Green Psychology. We view personal growth as the most direct way to elevate consciousness, a prerequisite to solving our most serious challenges, as well as discovering new heights of what it means to be human.

Wisely Using Our Personal Energy, which is a precious resource, means living a life of self-renewal and not wasting our energy fighting to be right, controlling other people, or depleting ourselves.

Self-Renewal occurs when we discover what is most meaningful to us and then we live our life accordingly. Such discovery is most likely to occur when we pay attention to whether what we are doing is energizing or draining. This includes our relationships.

Leaving a Responsible Footprint in our wake allows us to live without regrets or self-recrimination. If we feel good about the footprint we leave behind, we can more easily transition from one life-stage to the next.

Respecting Diversity requires us to have conversation, not debate. Conversations are not won or lost, they are exchanges that result is growth and deeper understanding.

The most unique aspect of Green Psychology is that it provides a specific language as the means to bring these principles to life. Using this unique language, Green Speak, is an actual practice, like a meditation practice, except that we meditate while we speak.
